About the Service

Flickering Lights & Tripping Breakers, Done Right

Flickering lights can come from a simple loose bulb, a bad dimmer or switch, a loose wire connection or an overloaded circuit. Breakers trip when a circuit draws too much current, has a short or a ground fault, or the breaker itself has worn out.

We test the circuit, check connections and look at the load to see which it is. If the fix is a new switch we do it right away, and if the fix points to a bigger issue like an undersized panel or loose service connections, we explain it plainly.

Music City Electrical brings flickering lights & tripping breakers to homes and businesses in Nashville and across 22 Middle Tennessee cities.

Good to Know

Questions About Flickering Lights & Tripping Breakers

Still have a question?

Call 615-357-7797

Are flickering lights dangerous?

Sometimes they are just a bulb or dimmer, but they can also point to loose connections, which can overheat. If flickering comes with a burning smell, hot outlets or buzzing from the panel, treat it as urgent and call us.

Why does my breaker trip when I use the microwave?

Usually the circuit is overloaded or shared with other devices. We check what is on the circuit and can add a dedicated circuit where it makes sense.

Can LED bulbs cause flickering?

Yes. LED bulbs paired with the wrong dimmer can flicker or hum. We can install LED-rated dimmers and check for other causes if the problem continues.
