About the Service

EV Charger Installation, Done Right

Plugging into a regular outlet adds range slowly. A Level 2 charger on a dedicated 240-volt circuit can add many miles of range per hour of charging, so you leave every morning with a full battery. The breaker is typically sized at 125 percent of the charger’s continuous amps, so a 40-amp charger usually needs a 50-amp breaker.

We check your panel’s capacity, choose the cable and breaker, mount the charger or outlet in the garage or driveway and test the installation. If your panel is full, we explain whether a load management device, a sub-panel or a panel upgrade makes sense.

Music City Electrical brings ev charger installation to homes and businesses in Nashville and across 22 Middle Tennessee cities.

Good to Know

Questions About EV Charger Installation

Still have a question?

Call 615-357-7797

How long will my EV take to charge?

It depends on your car and the charger. A Level 2 charger commonly adds a good number of miles per hour. Our EV Charger Planner estimates this from your battery and driving.

Do I need a panel upgrade for an EV charger?

Not always. We check your panel’s available capacity. If there is room, we simply add a circuit. If not, we can discuss load management or an upgrade.

Can I install the charger myself?

A 240-volt charging circuit is a high-power circuit, and we recommend a licensed electrician install it so it is safe and meets code.
